G S Kelsey Ltd were engaged by a local care provider, Kapil Care, to help them design and build their flagship residential home. We worked closely with the directors of Kapil Care to produce a design for a residential/dementia care home in Scunthorpe catering for up to 60 residents. Design work started in 2010 and G S Kelsey Ltd chaired design development meetings and arranged liaison with the planning department to ensure that the development had sufficient support. Work started on site in April 2011 and was completed in June 2012. The build programme went very well and G S Kelsey Ltd fulfilled all its contractual obligations which involved working closely with our clients monitoring surveyors and contract administrators.
The design incorporated state of the art technologies to ensure that the buildings energy is produced from renewable sources. Air Source heat pumps have been installed to heat the building through an underfloor heating system. Warm colours and materials have been utilised to give the appearance of a comfortable home and the interior of the building has been fitted out with service systems that ensure the building is compliant with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements
