This project was undertaken in a sensitive manner to cause the least amount of disruption to the two residents who had to vacate their homes while full re-roofing works were carried out. The project was completed on time and under the original contract sum.
The project consisted of:
The removal of the existing slate roof tiles, strengthening work to the roof trusses by fixing in new timbers and new under felt and tiles. The flat roof at the rear of the property has been overlaid with a new single ply roof membrane. All the lead work has been replaced and new facia and gutters have been fitted.
Replacement of any spalling bricks to all three cottages.
Brewster Cottage, which was vacant, had a full refurbishment including DPC repairs, new kitchen and bathroom fittings included a level access wet room. Works to the old electrical system were updated and a full re-decoration of the cottage was carried out.
