Epworth sports pavilion was built as part of a larger scheme, which included a new ‘3G’ sports pitch that was constructed at same time by a separate contractor. The scheme was funded predominately through the Football Foundation, North Lincolnshire Council with contributions from South Axholme Academy and Epworth Town Colts.
The new sports pavilion has become the home of the many teams of Epworth Town Colts and provides changing rooms for two teams and two officials changing room each with their own showers and toilets. A separate player’s entrance means the community room and toilets can be kept clean for the spectators. A kitchen with serving hatches to the outside and community room was also included.
The traditional brick and block construction of the single storey building and good ground conditions meant a smooth progression of the project. Kelsey’s liaised with the Trust and architects LK2 regularly and provided economical solutions whilst maintaining the desired finish of the pavilion.
