We’re delighted to be this years recipient of the “Best Community Project” at the 2019 Local Authority Building Control Awards held at Forest Pines, Scunthorpe.
Ourselves and Ongo Homes were recognised for The Arc on Westcliff, taking the Best Community Building at the annual South Yorkshire and Humber heat.
After a decade of regular commendations and shortlisting, the focal point of a £9 million major regeneration project won through, to the delight of managing director Matthew Robinson.
He said: “The award is real testament to the hard work that went into delivering the scheme. So many stakeholders had a say in this major local initiative and the end product has pleased everybody.”
The Arc stands at the heart of the community. A great example of how the built environment can truly strengthen neighbourhoods. A fully inclusive building encouraging community cohesion, it is a statement of inspirational change.
Our project at Belton Visitor Centre also received a commendation as a losing Finalist. The project can be viewed in our portfolio https://www.gskelsey.co.uk/portfolio_category/public-buildings/
